Annual appointments to Marysville’s Hotel/Motel Committee were confirmed by the City Council Monday night. Committee members are: 

·        Jennifer Caveny, Holiday Inn Express

·        Mary Kirkland, Downtown Merchants Association

·        Charles Lee, Village Motor Inn

·        Jesica Stickles, Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce

State law requires the committee to include two representatives of businesses that collect lodging taxes and two involved in activities eligible for funding by lodging tax revenues. Council President Kamille Norton was previously named to serve as committee chairperson representing the City.

The City annually solicits grant applications for projects proposed to promote tourism in Marysville. The next application cycle will open this fall. The Hotel/Motel Committee reviews qualifying applications and recommends which to fund with available resources (lodging taxes collected).
